A lot of these interviews are completely erroneous about quitting your day job anyway - no mums interviewed have mentioned employing a fulltime nanny and housekeeper from their Etsy earnings thus quitting their own day jobs.<BR/>What the Etsy QYDJ are really reporting on in many cases is the rise of the raccoon mum, as explained in this Globe and Mail article http://www.theglobeandmail.com/servlet/story/LAC.20090224.LNOCTURNAL24/EmailTPStory/ .pomomamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08338550638937829078noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5058240184065738633.post-91920105946250222662009-02-24T15:44:00.000-08:002009-02-24T15:44:00.000-08:00Very interesting, but I do think that the QYDJ sel...Very interesting, but I do think that the QYDJ sellers need to account (somewhere) for the fact that they are getting many thousands of dollars of free ads, marketing, and active promotions on Etsy for several months. In a few cases, the biggest sellers on the site have been promoted constantly since Etsy picked them to be a favored store for continuous and aggressive promotion by Etsy without paying for those marketing and promotion services. One of the major reasons QYDJ stores are being singled out is because Etsy has chosen to provide them with free marketing and promotion. The Funny Onehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03545537988530733607noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5058240184065738633.post-53287820257739358542009-02-20T17:20:00.000-08:002009-02-20T17:20:00.000-08:00I know you've been working hard on this and I'm gl...I know you've been working hard on this and I'm glad to see you put it all together. I agree, quitting the dayjob is only really possible if all your ducks are seriously in a row (and it would be most reasonable if that row included a secondary income / spouse with family insurance coverage /possibly a paid off home, etc.) I like that Etsy is giving us ideas and things to aspire to, but I'm with you: I'm not convinced.HollyLynnehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13766739727430438240noreply@blogger.com
